Exploration Assignment 5: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
The term "epistolary" means the writing of letters. The book’s partly epistolary structure can make a certain impact on the reader. Professor Alfred Drake suggests "we sometimes read a chapter that describes events or their consequences, and then, in a subsequent chapter, the person most directly concerned in those events tells his story by means of a letter read by us and several other characters." I would like you to explore this effect and how this type of writing has developed. Create a new blog post at jekyllandhyde2007.blogspot.com as one of the characters from the novella. Also, respond to one of the other character's (classmate's) posts. However, please post it as if the character were living in 2007 America. You must register for an account at blogspot.com (it is very easy and accessible). Please make the posts (as a new post in this blog -- I will invite you to join) and simply send a message via the WebCT assignments tab when you have completed the assignment.
